It was very difficult to find information that you wanted, and if you were new to the game, you would be frustrated and would probably quit the game within a few hours. In Europa Universalis 3, you had many menus and tool tips that were scattered and unorganized. Paradox Interactive's Development Studio has not sacrificed complexity for the sake of simplicity. I also believe it is the 'easiest' of their games to learn, but it is only easy on the surface. I believe this game to be one of their most stable releases.

I am not just 'fanboying' and following Paradox Interactive unquestionably. I am not comparing the game to any of these titles, because Europa Universalis IV is the flagship of a completely unique strategy genre. It may sound a bit silly after you have read my biases and experiences, but I honestly think that it trumps games like Civilization V, Age of Empires Online, Shogun 2 Total War, and other titles when it comes to fun. I'm just going to say it, and I think that Europa Universalis IV is one of the best strategy games that I have played 'out of the box'. Now that you know my biases and experience, let us get this review underway. I have sunk approximately 215 hours into Europa Universalis IV insofar, and the game was released exactly a month ago. I am also a moderator of the largest Paradox Interactive subreddit, /r/paradoxplaza, which has a lot of Paradox employees who lurk it for complaints and suggestions. I have probably sunk ~5000 or more hours into their various titles, of which I am slightly ashamed to say. I hopped on board when Europa Universalis 3 was first announced, and I have been having a blast with Paradox Interactive games ever since.

I have been a fan of Paradox Interactive for the past ~6 years. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creeschįirst off, I want to display all of my biases./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
